Clark Foam closes

Could this mark a big change in the surfboard market? Clark Foam, the world's largest supplier of polyurethane foam surfboard blanks, has closed for two weeks, as of last Monday, at the request of the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], pending further investigation. Already boards in the USA based on Clark blanks have seen prices rising. If Clark closes permanently as is being reported by some, it could have a major effect on the price of surfboards especially in the USA, where some 80% or more of boards use Clark foam. As some 20,000 blanks a month are removed from the surfboard market.
