Fin Whale at Ayres Point

A dead whale (approx 55ft long) has been washed up at Ayres Point near Sennen Cove. The whale is thought to be a female whale, the second largest mammal on the planet after the Blue whale. It was brought ashore in the recent stormy weather. Unless physically removed it will most likely stay ashore until the next spring tide in a couple of weeks so water quality at Sennen/Gwenver may not be too hot for a while as it decays.
