Room for a few more
Winters the new spring, as the last two weekends have seen record numbers of surfers beefing up the line-ups. Only the more random spots are now staying un-crowded in the cold. What's summer going to be like if the credit crunch keeps people at home? We could be walking on water.

I suppose that spot on that day would have had the only clean wave for miles around too.

If you can surf mid week, get up early and do a bit of exploring you can still surf without the crowds. Besides sometimes its better to have a lot of waves at a not so hot spot , than get frustrated in the crowds when its firing

Dave, you should do a "Guess where this is?" on your pics. I could've swore it was Hawks, rather than Newquay Bay. Mind you, we don't know how lucky we are down west! I won't complain about crowds ever again (til next time anyway!).

Keith, hey what can I say that day I went in a huge loop from north via south back to north coast, and saw folks catching some good waves on both coasts. Plus caught some fun photos of folks on waves including a few from strange angles of familiar places like the bay, its part of a challenge I've set myself this year, get both shots of folks ripping on pumping swell and more random shots, like the surf tractor the other day, but that was the farmers fault, honest!
