Surfers ear, don't take the risk
Olly of Ollypop just contacted me about surfers ear he's just had the ear op, and if you want to know what recovering from an Op is like read Olly's blog, bottom line get yourself some ear plugs, preferably custom plugs that fit your ear exactly rather than some general plugs you find in surf shops.
Personally I can't recommend Tony (a friend) strongly enough for his custom plugs, he's based in Penzance, give him a shout on 01736-874950 and hopefully save yourself from a painful ear Op in the long run which can leave you with complications. You know that old saying prevention is better than cure, and the ear Op isn't always a cure! If you cant afford a custom pair of plugs then Blutac is a cheap and disposible option.
What is Surfers Ear?
Surfer's ear is a condition of the ear canal where the bony lining under the skin develops a number of lumps (exostoses) that grow into the tube. This can eventually cause a partial or even complete blockage of the ear canal. Result deafness or regular painful ear infections as water gets trapped in the ear.
