time to go

After six years of fun times running surfhog, I'm thinking its time to close the site down. Theres plenty of options for grabbing your forecast elsewhere. So come the end of the month, surfhog will be toast. Mind I'll still likely be twittering surf reports as I can.

I don't want to blow smoke up your arse but yours is the best, most accurate report out there. Always an interesting tit bit or two when the conditions aren't taking the lead roll. Very sad:(

No way Dave. I agree with the other guys...yours is the most accurate forecast and the one I always look at first! Also it is the most West Cornwall specific, and includes a forecast for the South Coast, which no-one else does with any accuracy. Please don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your site is unique Dave and the first place I go to for forecast information and inspiration especially for a land-locked surfer who has moved away from Cornwall. I often post your pictures & movies on Twitter. It will be a shame to see you go but I would like to congratulate you for your dedication over the years in providing a much appreciated source of pleasure. Good Luck.

Dave, since being exiled up country your blog is one of the few things that keeps me connected to the water, don't go...

Ditto! Dont do it! My homepage will never be the same! I dont even glimpse at the stars on magicseasmell! Its also nice to see faces you recognise, laugh at the blog comments, and get some local yarn when im offshore out of touch working for 5 weeks at a time. If u have to do it Baloo, thanx for all the effort you've put in mate & enjoy some well deserved water time! Its firing today......

Dave, your presence in the line-up is always a welcome one and I think you've achieved the same aloha here on-line, that's unique and will be greatly missed.

Real shame Dave, this is far and away the best site for forecasting and always gives a subtle spin on the mood in the line-up and some great tit-bits and links on the blog. I will miss the taste of home when you stop.

Ditto, your site is the most accurate of them all (apart from the odd occasion ;-) )and has a great community feel. Whenever it's "what's the surf doing" the reply is always "dunno what's Surfhog saying". Much appreciate all the hard work mate, will miss it for sure.

What will my default be now? Dave, your site has so much to offer local surfers in West Cornwall as well as far and wide. It is unique, combining accurate forecasts with all sorts of extra bits to keep us amused. The guys at work look at the site during breaks, just to see what we are missing! Cheers for your hard work and please reconsider! See you in the line up this week!

Echo everything which had been said above, even though I live 3500miles away from Cornwall I always enjoy checking in on what is going on with surfhog and now that you have L's book dedicated to the surfhog you can never turn it off......

please reconsider, yours is the only site worth looking at it, consider all the added co2 emissions from having to drive down to take a look, the planet is doomed without surfhog!

There is nothing out there like this; your "swell" clairvoyancy must be due to a long lost mer-man relative... Please reconsider.

only just been told you had a wobble, and so glad you've changed your mind. I'm into your site every day - it's the best! It must be so much work. Why don't you put a 'donations' slot in - you deserve it. Best wishes.(also follow on Twitter - mr_djb)
